A major project of mine last semester was to form a public relations campaign for a local business or organization. The project was a great learning experience and first jab at a real PR project, and it has made me so excited to grow in my skills as a public relations professional.
My group of three was tasked with finding a client, determining their needs, and forming an appropriate public relations campaign to help them reach their goals. Our group worked with Maple Boutique to develop an effective plan to assist them in growing their social media following and increasing online sales.
We began by communicating with the client about their needs and weaknesses and determined that their main goals were to increase online website traffic and sales, as well as increase their following and engagement on social media, particularly Instagram. We met several times throughout the semester to discuss how to approach each goal, and researched methods or services that could assist in the process.
