Resolutions

2017 was one for the books, but as I look back there are definitely things I believe could help improve my health, happiness, and productivity for 2018. As I head into the new year, here are my goals and resolutions for the next 365 days.

Read at least one book a month

With all the reading required for classes, sometimes it’s hard to find the desire to read a novel for fun when I actually have some free time. Over winter break, I found myself diving back into some of my favorite books while at home and am determined to make it a priority to read something besides my textbooks during the year. Reading used to be one of my favorite things to do, and I can’t wait to find that passion for books again.

Bullet journal

I’m a stationery and planning addict, and am switching over to a bullet journal planning method this coming year. I see it as a therapeutic, creative outlet where I can doodle and practice my penmanship all while being productive! It will also be helpful to keep track of my water intake, exercise, study time, and more. I find that I am more productive with tasks such as those when I have a visual reminder or tracker for them, and bullet journaling will be the perfect way to do so. I have the Leuchtturm 1917 Medium A5 Dotted Notebook in Emerald. I’ll definitely be publishing bullet journal posts throughout the year, so stay tuned!

Consistent blogging

What started as a project for my Intro to Public Relations class has now become a great hobby and place to put my photography, thoughts, and more. I hope to grow this website into a portfolio, journal, and photo diary all in one. Just through more consistent posts and a little SEO practice, I have seen this blog grow already and hope to improve even more through this coming year in my writing and photography.

Music

It’s always such a happy and nostalgic moment when I come across one of my old favorite songs and experience all the memories attached to them. This year, I’ve decided to track my music listening with last.fm and record my favorite/most listened to songs each month in my bullet journal! It will be awesome to look back at the end of the year at my little monthly playlists.

Resolutions can be tough to hold, but here’s to keeping up with our goals and hopes for the year. Let’s do it, 2018.❈
